“Nathan is a proven leader, a talented athlete and a dedicated student
who is committed to achieving the highest level of excellence,”
said Congressman John Boehner, who recommended him. “I am certain
he will serve the academy, our community and our country with pride and

Lakota West Senior Jordan Hicks Reaches 1000 Point Total
Senior Jordan Hicks reached the 1000 career points scoring milestone on
Senior Night, at the Mainstreet Arena (2/17/2010). Hicks' 1000th point
came on a jump shot from the wing (left) in the first half of the West
win over Sycamore. He finished the evening with a game high 19 points
against the Aves.
Hicks is the second
male player at Lakota West to reach 1000 points and the first since Dan
Hutzelman, class of 1999. Nearing the end of his fourth varsity season,
Jordan's total now stands at 1009 and 12th on the list of Lakota school
district (male and female, West, East, and Lakota) 1000 point scorers,
just one point behind Matt "Machine Gun" Kelley (Lakota 1988).
With three regular season games and the state tournament remaining Hicks
may be expected to move even higher on the Lakota all time scoring ladder.
